MATT DOMAN JOINS THE DOCTOR AND CREW AT THE ALBERT HALL

We're very excited to report that Hubbub actor Matt Doman featured in the Doctor Who Proms this weekend, as broadcast on BBC Radio 3. Not only did he don a foreboding Cyberman suit as part of the performance but he also appeared alongside Doctor Who actor Matt Smith as an Air Raid Warden.

Matt was thrilled to be on stage with the Who crew and even had a go at singing the Tom Jones song 'Delilah' at the famous Albert Hall - albeit during rehearsals!!!

You can catch the performance on BBC's iPlayer here. The Proms will also be broadcast on BBC Television later this year.

MATT DOMAN JOINS SARAH JANE

Our very own Matt Doman has recently gained two fantastic acting jobs. In early April he appeared as PC Hughes in Reflections, a film for the CPS. Later that month, he filmed two episodes of CBBC's The Sarah Jane Adventures, in which he played a Man in Black. He even had his own stunt double! The episodes will be aired in the Autumn. Well done Matt!

MODEL BEHIND THE MASK

Doctor Who monster actor, Matt Doman, 26, from Pontyclun has just been voted 'Welsh Male Model of the Year' at Fashion Rocks 2008, Swansea.

Matt, whose strikingly good looks are usually hidden beneath Cybermen, Ood or Scarecrow masks, is really excited to receive the award.

He said: “As a Doctor Who monster people don’t know who I am. I thought it would be great to enter the competition and let people know the man behind the mask – but when I had to walk down the catwalk in my underwear I didn’t realise I was actually going to reveal so much.”

Matt, who also features on the I’m Learning Welsh TV campaign, seems to have endless talents. In recent times he has performed his own motorcycle stunts in Casualty, as well as recording a small speaking part for next year’s highly anticipated Torchwood series.

Matt finished top out of 35 hopefuls, winning flowers, champagne and £500 to spend in Moda, Swansea. He continued: “Although I am an actor at heart, I am really looking forward to seeing wonderful things, encountering new cultures and having a good time as a model.”

Matt has been featured in the South Wales Echo and Wales on Sunday. Click on the links to read.

TALKIN' LIKE PIRATES. ARRR!

With gaming on the Internet becoming increasingly popular, pirate adventurer, Captain Cloogo hit the streets of Cardiff to celebrate ‘National Talk like a Pirate Day’. At random he selected a number of individuals and asked them pledge to speak like a pirate for the rest of the day. Happily some agreed to do so.

Jon Frey, owner of Cloogo, the Internet treasure hunt where you click on a link to win a prize, said: “I guess it could be very difficult to go back to the office speaking like a pirate all day. Saying that, it would definitely be interesting to be a fly on the wall where this does happen.”

Speaking in character, Matt said: “I’d be teachin' they land lubbers how t' talk like a buccaneer. Arrr, and they’ve done they's self proud. What's more I’d be tellin' them about Cloogo, t’ brand new website on t' internet. I’m told ye can win booty, send gifts t' yer hearties, share pictures and join gangs. I dunno wha' most o' that means, but shiver me timbers it seems astonishing”.

Jon Frey is pleased by the public’s reaction to Captain Cloogo and is hopeful that the public will get behind the website when it launches. He said. “Cloogo will certainly be an antidote to the credit crunch. As a free Internet treasure hunt we hope it will attract lots of users. Our ambition is to put Cardiff and South East Wales on the map as a major hotbed of games development.”
